Joe Versus The Volcano Reviewed

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Tom Hanks always showed promise, even back when he was in the short lived sitcom, Bosom Buddies. He was able to spin off of that success to become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood. Many critics will be quick to point out: His acting chops may not be on par with DeNiro or Hoffman, but what he lacks in method, he more than makes up for with sheer charisma and likability. It’s this likability that led him to a blossoming comedy career with Big and Turner and Hooch, and it’s a key ingredient to what makes Joe Vs the Volcano one of the best movies to download.

So, what makes this one so much better than his other early nineties comedies? Well to start off with, those other comedies provided big laughs and a charming leading man, but Joe vs the Volcano provides something more. Not only is this movie funny, weird and unpredictable, it also contains the meaning of life. No joke.

In the first act, Joe is hating his life, hating his job, working at a repugnant factory (designed by Beetlejuice’s Bo Welch, the factory is really a masterpiece of life crushing depression). The factory sits in the middle of a vast muddy expanse of terrain. Joe works under flickering lights which he’s sure are giving him cancer and spends the day wishing he had the nerve to talk to the beautiful woman he sits across from (played by Meg Ryan in one of three roles).

The hypochondriac Joe quits this job when he’s told by a doctor that he has a “Brain Cloud” which will kill him in five or six months. Into Joe’s life comes an industrialist who offers him the opportunity to “Live like a king and die like a man”.

The industrialist uses an island, the Waponi Woo, for mining, and in order to keep the people happy, he must sacrifice someone to their volcano God, lest he get mad and blow the whole island up. The chief of these people would rather someone from his own tribe do the deed, but they all seem a bit too cowardly. Joe is more than happy to give his life and die like a man, since it’s that or waste away on a hospital sickbed.

From here, Joe is given his life back. He quits his job, he does what he wants with his time, he enjoys himself, and for the first time in his life, he appreciates what a gift it is to have been born. This is the core philosophy of the movie and the meaning of life: Enjoy it.

The look of the film is similarly wonderful. Bo Welch really sends it out of the park on this one. The film takes place in a sort of fantasy mirror universe of our own. Taking cues equally from Dali and Andy Warhol, the film looks like a living dream.

Interestingly, the original draft of the script (SPOILER ALERT) had the industrialist and the doctor getting their just deserts at the end of the film. It’s probably better that that ending was nixed, as these two characters can almost be seen in a heroic light. While their scheme was dastardly, the fact is that they serve not only as the villains of the film, but as Joe’s saviors as well.

Rap fans, on the other hand, are the reason that hip-hop artists are about to be added to the endangered species list. Film Download Site more than four hours) can deplete chemicals in the brain necessary for learning. Experience counts a lot inacting thus you might even have to settle for lesser roles.

How To Use Movie Download Sites Effectively

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

With today’s economy being how it is, it is hard to find a movie rental store that is still in business without having to drive all over town. Dollar a day rental boxes have become very popular, but you can not guarantee they will have a movie you want to see. Going to the movies has become ridiculously overpriced, and out of many a persons budget. And who wants to pay for a DVD you may not even want to watch again? The best alternative to the above is using Movie Download Sites.

Many sites are now online that offer different ways to watch movies. Some of these sites even offer free movie viewing. Movie libraries that are online do not always have the latest movies. They are a good option to see an old favorite or one that was missed. Not every site has the same movie. If you can not find what you are looking for at one then go check out another one.

If the plan is to watch these movies at the computer then consider the equipment. If streaming movies or downloading them then a high speed connection is needed. Processor speed is also a very important factor. With a slow processor movies will stutter and pause too often while trying to buffer the data. Downloading movies requires a lot of spare storage space. If the plan is to burn a copy to a disc then even more space will be needed. Getting an external hard drive is a good idea for storing a collection of movies without affecting system storage or performance.

Sound is often times over looked when making a home theater system. Select a system that has both surround sound and a sub woofer. There are online documents to assist in creating a home theater system. Speaker placement can be a fine art and these documents can offer suggestions to optimize the sound output.

Remember when CD burning became popular? That technology has also been added so that DVDs can be burned, as well as Blu-ray discs. DVD burning has been around for awhile so DVD burners are relatively inexpensive. With Blu-ray being the new best technology for movie viewing, those burners are still pretty expensive, but as time passes will begin to get cheaper. The quality on a Blu-ray is comparable to watching it in a theater, giving everything more depth and detail. Think of it as HD for DVDs.

Some sites require payment for downloads, but many times these sites will also give an option to burn the movie directly to a disc, saving you a step later on. With a multitude of websites offering free downloads of software, it shouldn’t be too difficult before you find one that will work best for you.

Watching movies on a mobile phone is becoming a popular trend. Charges other than the service plan may apply for these movies. The movies will be formatted for the size of the particular phone specifications. The movies are normally lowered in quality to allow for faster streaming.

Movie watching trends are pointing to Movie Download Sites. Instead of the hassle of going to the theater it is now possible to experience a movie in the same way as a theater but at home. Always be certain that the website being used for downloading is using legal methods of distribution.

Unlike before, horror movies got big exploration, where so many variation of story and evil came in. Buy Film Online After watching Jaws, you may not swim at the beach ever again And any movie that can have that type of effect must be good! Even special occasions, like seeing the Who or Cream at the Hammersmith Odeon were cheap at the price.

Downloading Movies From Your Home Computer

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

For the movie fan, the technology of today offers more entertainment opportunities than any time in history. Original film technology changed the way we looked at the world. The rapidly changing technology of today allows us to bring the movie theater to our homes, watch our favorite films on tiny hand held devices and even download movies from anywhere in the world.

Movies for download operate on digital technology. This newer form or data storage and audio and video display has revolutionized the way the world works. In 2009 the United States switched exclusively to digital broadcasting of television signals. Digital technology is used for recording of video, audio, editing and broadcasting. Today, digital technology is also used in film making.

The technology you enjoyed in the past was physical, created on film. Movie makers shot movies on film, edited on film and distributed to the public on film. The process was long and tedious, and it took a long time the film to be available to you.

Today, the movies you see are made in a different way. New digital cameras have replaced much of the film production, and changed the way the movie industry does business. Today, producers shoot directly from digital cameras and record the audio and video on digital hard drives. The film is edited on digital editing equipment, before it is released and projected at the theater on digital projection equipment.

This new technology has revolutionized the way films are made and seen. Today movies are available over the Internet and can be downloaded to view using a variety of devices. Movie lovers can watch movies on their home televisions, using digital recording recorders and players, on computers and even on devices small enough to fit in a shirt pocket.

Large corporations moved into the business of renting movies long ago, and now offer movies for rent over the Internet. Customers open a rental account, choose the films they want to see, and the company ships the movie to them through the mail. Other companies also have local stores. Customers can order films online and drop by the neighborhood store to collect their movie. These companies are now turning to the new technology, offering movies in a download format from the Internet.

New companies are riding the technological wave and offering movies for download over the Internet. In some cases, you can download movies and keep them forever, depending on the type of copyright that applies to the film. Other downloaded movies will expire a few days after downloading. Rental companies often give you the option of downloading the individual films you want, or you can sign up for a membership and download several a month for a membership fee paid monthly.

Technology has changed the way media is captured, edited and presented to the world. Film buffs of the past had to rely on the local movie theater to see their favorite films, but today films are available at any time from the Internet. Entertainment has changed forever, and today film buffs can download movies from the comfort of their own homes.

Taking care of your piano does not only entail having it tuned up every two to five years. There are a few PSP download services on the market and I have tried most all of them.

An Overview Of The Movie Blind Fury

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

If you’re looking for a great action comedy flick from the eighties and you’ve already seen every single thing with Arnold and Stallone, maybe you should check out Blind Fury. This movie is really the epitome of what made eighties action flicks so much fun. It’s goofy, light hearted, but with a good story, great action, and a really clever gimmick that makes the whole movie very different from many of the other action flicks that came out at the time. We put it on our must see movie downloads list for the next time you want to see a unique action movie while at the same time one that really touches on everything that made action comedy flicks so great back in the nineteen eighties.

The story follows a Vietnam war veteran who was abandoned by his old buddy during a bad firefight. He was left behind and wound up going blind. He was taken in by a south Vietnamese village where he was taught to use a samurai sword to defend himself. He’s now returned to the United States and is seeking out the man who left him behind, not to take revenge, but to forgive his old friend and reconcile with him.

Along the way, he essentially adopts the man’s son for the week and takes him on a journey to reunite with his father. It’s sort of like Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman, but done as an eighties action comedy in the US. It’s funny, exciting, and the blindness provides an interesting angle for the action. From the opening scene to the finale, the movie keeps coming up with interesting new ways to exploit his blindness.

Hauer really has to compete for the audience’s attention alongside the rest of the cast, who are all priceless. Slag is really a big part of what makes the cast so funny. Slag, played by Randall Tex Cobb, is one of the all time funniest eighties badguys. The way he meets his come uppance is really fitting and will leave you with a smile on your face.

The movie really captures the best of what eighties action comedy films were all about. It’s funny, the action is inventive, imaginative, and exciting, and it finds a lot of room for great character development and good storytelling, so while there’s focus on humor and action, that’s not all there is to it. The story is actually somewhat touching.

Ninja legend Sho Kosugi shows up, all of a sudden and out of nowhere, as a hired sword just so we can have a really great fight scene between him and Hauer. There are really a lot of great hired badguys in the film, providing a lot of laughs and great fight scenes.

Two of the best badguys in the movie are the pair of redneck brothers who serve as the movie’s comic relief.

It really is too bad that they don’t really make movies like this anymore, but we can at least enjoy these movies with movie downloads. It’s not one of the most well known of the eighties action flicks, but it’s really one of the very best of the era. Funny, exciting, imaginative and fun.

Watching movies online allows you to avoid having to carry CDs and DVDs everywhere. Breakin’ Two Reviewed

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

There’s no doubt that Breakin’ 2 Electric Boogaloo is the movie of the eighties. Maybe not the greatest film made between 1980 and 1990, but certainly the most eighties movie in existence. Whatever reason you could possibly have for wanting to see a flick from the eighties, you’ll find it in Breakin’ 2. The hair, the clothes, the music, the corny jokes and storylines, it’s all here, and that’s why Breakin’ 2 is at the top of the list of must download movies of the eighties.

The story follows Shabadoo and Boogaloo Shrimp essentially playing themselves as two breakdancers who teach popping and locking at the local community center, where poor young children go to learn dancing, boxing, art, whatever. It keeps them out of trouble and is really a big boon to the local community, really giving a sense of belonging to these poor street kids.

Of course, there’s always conflict, and this time it’s the crooked land developer story. You need this in an eighties movie. It worked for The Blues Brothers, it worked for The Goonies, and it’s done to perfection in Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. The center is behind on their taxes and some investors want to tear it down and turn it into a shopping mall! Boooo!

So of course, the guys decide to put on a show to save the building. It’s a hair-thin clothesline of a plot, but it’s just enough to hang some really great dance numbers on. And these dance numbers… They’re some of the best ever put to film. It takes a little of the hip hop culture of the time, mixes that with the big choreographed dance numbers from classic musicals, and comes out with a really incredible hybrid that is incredibly exhilarating.

Boogaloo Shrimp also has one of the all time coolest dance numbers when he begins to, literally, start break dancing on the ceiling and walls of his bedroom. It’s obvious how they did this scene, by putting the set on a rotating axis, but the way they pulled it off is spectacular, with just a few long, unbroken takes as his girlfriend walks into the room and watches, standing upright on the floor as Shrimp spins and twirls all over the ceiling.

Shabadoo has a great scene, too, when he gets into it with the local street gang. They pick a fight and he and his gang chase them through alleys and backroads, confronting them under a bridge. When he finally corners the punks, he rips off his vest, cracks his knuckles and… Starts a dance off… Yep. It’s really a great scene, playing with all the action and excitement of a rumble scene without any of the glorified violence. It’s fun, and kind of amusing, to see these thugs get their come uppance in the form of a dance contest.

Of course, the movie has a happy ending. That’s not really a spoiler. Can you imagine an upbeat musical with a downer ending? Why would anyone want to watch that?

So the next time you want a good time, a few laughs and a great show, get some beers and some buddies and give Breakin’ 2 a download.

Through a film downloading site you can see tons of brilliant films like The Matrix. Many movie sites provide a huge number of pictures to choose from. Fast Movie Downloads A great way to see the best motion pictures is to find streaming videos.
