Why The Smartest Kids Own A Sansa Shaker 1gb MP3 Player?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

My kid’s birthday was coming up, and once again I had no idea what to get her. Dolls were out of the question, as she was getting a little old for them, but I didn’t know what else to buy. Her mother was of no use, so I had to go out and look for a suitable present on my own, knowing that if she didn’t like it, it would be my fault, of course.

I entered all the shops I could find, one by one, from toy stores, to electronics stores. My finances were not great either, but I wanted a nice present for her. Just when I though everything was hopeless, and was going to buy a dollhouse, I saw something interesting, that wasn’t too expensive either.

The salesman explained everything I needed to know about the sansa shaker 1gb mp3 player and I bought it, hoping she would like it. Along the way, I started looking at it, and wondering if it actually works. I decided to try it out, to see if it wasn’t defective, of course. I had so much fun with it that I went back and bought another one, but this time, for myself.

I arrived in time for the birthday party, and handed her my gift, feeling very proud of my choice. Her reaction showed me I had made the right choice, as she loved it from the moment she saw it. After filling it with songs, and understanding how to use it, she started taking it everywhere with her. She wouldn’t even let me borrow it, telling me she needed it.

I revealed to my wife my player, and she called me crazy. She doesn’t know a thing about technology. Buying it has been one of the best decisions I’ve taken, and I’ve been using it ever since, even at work. There’s always time to listen to a song, no matter how busy I am.

Security Alert Caused By MP3 Player

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

A man from New Zealand discovers US army information on second hand MP3 player, according to reports from New Zealand TV

The person at the center of this story Chris Ogle claims he discovered the US army information files when he went to download music from the internet to his MP3 player one afternoon.

The New Zealander says found the secret data regarding US military personnel on an Personal media player he bought from a second hand shop in Oklahoma, USA.

Chris Ogle, 29, said: “The more I look at it, the more I see and the less I think I should be looking.”

These classified information files include the names and telephone numbers of members of the US armed forces, according to news reports by a local New Zealand TV channel.

However, the Pentagon can relax a little, as according to one expert, the confidential documents in question, are unlikely to be a security concern, as they are dated from 2005, therefore are already 5 years out of date.

Still there will be some embarrassment in the US Army, as some files found included the warning that the release of this information is “prohibited by federal law”.

As well as the individual details of the US soldiers, including a listing of their social security numbers, the information files also detailed pregnant female soldiers, who will by now be female troop mothers, there were also apparent briefings of missions in Afghanistan.

A spokes person from the Center for Strategic Studies in New Zealand, said of course that while these records should not be circulating in the public domain. He thought it did not appear that it would have a negative affect on national security in the USA.

“This is just slack administrative procedures which are indeed a cause of embarrassment,” he said.

Mr Ogle, from Whangarei mean time , said he would give the digital files to the US government if requested.

However the US Embassy in New Zealand has declined to comment.

This is not the first time that such laps in security surrounding secret US military information stored electronically.

There was a very similar tale in Afghanistan in 2006 It was reported that US investigators found stolen flash USB drives that held confidential US military information from local shops close to the US base there.

MP3 Players, An Introduction

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Time to release your music on an MP3 player which are also known as MP4 players. The clever random mode on an MP3 player shuffles up your songs, playing them randomly. You can also store all your songs on a player small enough to fit in your pocket. But where does your MP3 player hold all your music?

It was common in the past, for MP3 players to use an internal mini hard drive to for data storage. Having a mini hard drive means the MP3 player has lots room to hold music files. The Apple iPod Classic MP3 player has up to 160GB storage and Archos also has players with similar capacity. One of the drawbacks though, of using mini hard drives in MP3 players, is that they make the players more bulky and heavier. They also demand more power to run, so potentially decrease the battery run time.

Newer MP3 players use flash memory, in fact almost all MP3 players made now are fitted with internal flash memory. They can often hold an additional SD memory card to increase the overall player storage capacity.

Flash memory players have several advantages, they can be much smaller and lighter. Flash memory uses much less power than a hard drive, so batteries last longer. The player can also access your files more quickly from flash memory than from a hard drive.

Flash memory does have it’s constraints. Mainly that that the memory capacity is much less than a hard drive. Flash memory usually comes in 8GB and 16GB sizes, which is much smaller than a 160GB player from Apple. Also, additional flash memory cards to add to your MP3 player can be expensive.

Did you know that you use your MP3 player for more than just music. MP3 player now come with color screens. This means you can watch videos and movies, as well as look at pictures. Screen sizes vary, typical small sizes are 1.8 inch while the larger sizes can be 4.3 inch and 5 inch. Interestingly enough, Apple’s Ipod Touch has a relatively modest 3.5″ display. The bigger the screen the more you will enjoy watching movies, and the larger screens are often in 16:9 ratio too.
